The Italian soccer club "Trento" announced the death of 18-year-old forward Sami Said. The young soccer player died in a traffic accident in Morocco. The club called this loss a tremendous blow and bid farewell to the player with heartfelt words.

The Italian club “Trento,” which competes in Serie C, announced the tragic death of its 18-year-old player Sami Said. The young forward died in a traffic accident that occurred on July 27 in Morocco. Sami Said was a product of the Trento academy and was considered one of the club’s most promising young players. He had worked his way up through the youth teams and was an integral part of the club’s system, where he was well known to coaches, teammates, and academy staff.

The circumstances of the fatal accident have not yet been disclosed. There is also no official information yet regarding the causes of the accident. “Trento” responded to the tragedy with an official statement, expressing condolences to the player’s family and loved ones.

“Trento was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic death of Sami Said, a player from the youth academy, who passed away at the age of 18 as a result of a traffic accident that occurred in Morocco,” the club’s statement reads. The club emphasized that Sami was not just a talented athlete, but an important part of the larger soccer family. “Sami was part of the ‘yellow-and-blue’ family, sharing a journey of athletic and personal growth with his teammates, coaches, and management—a journey that will forever remain in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know him,” Trento noted.

In closing, club representatives admitted that it is very difficult to find the right words after such a loss. “In the face of such a tragedy, any words seem superfluous. All that remains is a profound sense of emptiness. Farewell, Sami,” the club wrote.

The young forward’s death is a great loss for the Trento academy and for Italian soccer as a whole. Teammates, coaches, and fans are already expressing their condolences to the player’s family and remembering him as a talented, hardworking, and open-hearted young man who was just beginning his journey in professional sports. This is being reported on the club’s social media accounts.

As a reminder, Kyiv’s Dynamo has appealed to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to respond to the display of the Russian flag by fans of the Greek club PAOK during a Europa League qualifying match.

The Ukrainian 7-a-side soccer team won the European championship title for the first time in history. In the final match of the continental championship, the “blue-and-yellows” defeated the tournament hosts—the Italian team.
