Alexis Mac Allister upset over lack of new offer from Liverpool
Ghanaian outlet MyJoyOnline reported that Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is upset over the lack of an offer of a new contract from the club. The Argentine footballer also said that he had options to move to another team in the summer.
The 27-year-old Mac Allister spoke about his contract situation ahead of the Champions League match against Atlético. According to him, the club said that it currently could not offer him a new deal. The midfielder stressed that he gives his all to Liverpool every day in training and matches and will do so until his final day at the club.
Contract situation
Mac Allister joined Liverpool from Brighton in June 2023, signing a five-year contract. This year, his teammates Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch extended their deals with the club. The Argentine said he was happy for his teammates, who in his view deserved new contracts, but that his own situation makes him sad.

The footballer also said that he had no direct contact with Liverpool regarding the decision not to extend his contract. He added that he loves the club, its fans and the city, and also considers Liverpool to be the right team for him.
Role in the team
Mac Allister was an important player for Liverpool, which won the Premier League title in the 2024/25 season. At the same time, he admitted that last season was not successful either for him personally or for the team: Liverpool finished the championship in fifth place and dismissed head coach Arne Slot.
Last season, the Argentine made 55 appearances for Liverpool, while in the 2024/25 season he played 49 matches. The team's new head coach, Andoni Iraola, highly praised the footballer, noting that his desire to be at the club was important and that there was still plenty of time to discuss contract issues.
