Opta’s supercomputer has assessed the teams’ chances in the English Premier League title race with two rounds remaining in the season.
London’s Arsenal is currently considered the main contender for the title, with the model giving them an 86.5% probability of winning the championship. Manchester City’s chances are estimated at 13.5%.
After 36 rounds, Arsenal leads the standings with 79 points, ahead of Manchester City, which has 77 points.
Before the season ends, the London club has matches against Burnley and Crystal Palace, while Pep Guardiola’s team will face Bournemouth and Aston Villa.
The race for the English title remains wide open, but the mathematical model currently gives Arsenal a clear advantage.
As a reminder, the final match of Europe’s most prestigious tournament between France’s Paris Saint-Germain and London’s Arsenal will be officiated by a German refereeing crew led by Daniel Siebert. For the 42-year-old referee, this will be his first time officiating a decisive match in a senior European cup competition.
The decisive match of the 2025/26 season will take place on May 30 at the Puskás Arena in Budapest. For the English club, this final will be only the second in history following their defeat by Barcelona in 2006. The Parisian team will serve as the nominal home side at the Hungarian venue, which has previously hosted a Europa League final.
