Artem Besedin retired from soccer at age 30

Artem Besedin, a former forward for the Ukrainian national team and Kyiv’s “Dynamo,” has decided to end his professional career at the age of 30.

The forward’s most recent club was the Czech team Artis Brno, for which he played starting in January 2025. After his contract expired in the summer of 2026, the player decided not to continue his career or look for a new team.

Besedin spent most of his career with Dynamo Kyiv, where he played 143 matches from 2013 to 2023, scoring 35 goals and recording 13 assists. With the Kyiv club, he won the Ukrainian championship twice, the Ukrainian Cup three times, and the Ukrainian Super Cup twice.

The forward also played for Metalist Kharkiv, Omonia Nicosia, and Ordabasy Almaty, winning the Cyprus Cup and the Kazakhstan Championship, respectively. As a member of the Ukrainian national team, Besedin played in 19 matches and scored two goals.

As a reminder, the Spanish national team became the latest quarterfinalist in the 2026 World Cup, narrowly defeating Portugal in a highly anticipated Iberian derby. The outcome of the Round of 16 match was decided by a single goal scored in stoppage time of the second half.

The Belgian national team confidently defeated the United States 4–1 in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.
