Arda Turan commented on the Champions League draw for Shakhtar
Shakhtar head coach Arda Turan shared his thoughts on the Donetsk club’s opponents in the Champions League group stage.
Turan emphasized that the “Miners” respect all their opponents, as they will be facing some of the strongest and most famous clubs in world soccer. At the same time, the team aims to stay true to its own style and “play like Shakhtar.”
The coach singled out PSV’s attacking style, AEK’s organizational play, Slovan’s character, and Fenerbahçe’s status. He also called Leipzig an interesting team, and Sporting, Real Madrid, and Inter—clubs that have made history in world soccer.
According to the draw results, Shakhtar will face Real Madrid, Inter, Sporting, PSV, Fenerbahçe, Leipzig, AEK, and Slovan.
Due to the war, Shakhtar will play their nominal Champions League home matches at Stamford Bridge in London.
