Three goals before the break

A tense finish
In the 61st minute, Brugge reduced the deficit from a penalty awarded after Aaron Wan-Bissaka handled the ball. Later, Nicolo Tresoldi hit the post as the home side sought an equalizer.
This was Aston Villa's first win in the current Champions League season. It ended a poor run for the team, which had previously failed to score in three consecutive Premier League matches.
