Where Minaur advanced to the fourth round of the tournament in Cincinnati

The match lasted 2 hours and 22 minutes and was interrupted three times due to rain. Early in the match, de Minaur was forced to save three break points on his serve. In the 11th game of the first set, the Australian broke serve and then held his own serve without dropping a point.

In the next round, de Minaur will face either the ninth-seeded Czech, Jiří Lehečka, or the 21st-seeded Frenchman, Arthur Fiss. The Australian last reached the fourth round in Cincinnati in 2019.

De Minaur said he was pleased with how he found his way to victory, although the end of the match proved tougher than he had expected. According to him, he played a very good match until the last rain delay, and after that, he had to focus on every point.

Another Australian player, Rinki Hijikata, failed to advance to the round of 16: he lost to 14th-seeded Czech Jakub Menšík 3-6, 4-6.
