James Slipper to play 17th season in Super Rugby
Australian rugby player James Slipper has extended his contract with the ACT Brumbies and will play his 17th season in Super Rugby next year. According to Channel NewsAsia, the 37-year-old prop holds the tournament record for the number of matches played.
Super Rugby record
Slipper made his Super Rugby debut in 2010 for the Queensland Reds. Since then, he has played 212 matches in the tournament, more than any other player.
The rugby player said he feels good physically, continues to enjoy the game and believes he can still be useful both on the field and within the team. He also said he is pleased to continue playing in the Brumbies jersey.

Experience for the Brumbies
Slipper also holds the Australia national team record for the number of international matches. In July, he returned after retiring from the national team and played his 154th Test match against Italy when the team was short of props due to injuries.
This year, the Brumbies finished sixth in Super Rugby Pacific and were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, losing 12:66 to eventual champions Wellington Hurricanes. Head coach Stephen Larkham called Slipper an exceptional leader and noted his importance for the development of young players.
