Estonian Veikko Tihvan wins Compak Sporting world championship
Estonian shooter Veikko Tihvan won the FITASC Compak Sporting world champion title in Rio Salso, Italy. He became the first representative of Estonia to win this title.
Tie after the main series
According to ERR News, Tihvan hit 197 out of 200 targets in Thursday's competition. Frenchman Charles Bardou, a multiple medalist at European and world championships, achieved the same result.
The winner was determined in a shoot-off. Tihvan edged Bardou by one target to claim the world champion title.

The Compak Sporting discipline
Compak Sporting is a clay target shooting discipline overseen internationally by FITASC, the International Federation of Sport Hunting Shooting. Competitions are held on a compact shooting range, which requires less space than standard clay target shooting ranges.
Clay target shooting simulates hunting conditions. The targets are disc-shaped, made of crushed limestone, and brightly colored.
