FC Savannah win Ghana Women’s Super Cup for the first time — MyJoyOnline

In Ghana, FC Savannah won the Women’s Premier Super Cup for the first time in its history, defeating Epiphany Warriors 1-0 in the final. According to MyJoyOnline, the match at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence went into extra time.

The teams were unable to score during 90 minutes, although the game featured attacks in both directions. Savannah scored the decisive goal in the first half of extra time. Epiphany Warriors tried to equalize, but Savannah retained the lead and won the trophy.

Road to the final

Both teams made their tournament debuts and reached the final as winners of their groups. Savannah finished Group A unbeaten: they defeated Fosu Royals and Hasaacas Ladies, and also drew with Jonina Ladies. The team did not concede a single goal in the group stage.

Epiphany Warriors finished first in Group B after defeating Army Ladies and Prisons Ladies and losing to Dreams Ladies. Bronze medals were won by Army Ladies, who beat Hasaacas Ladies in a penalty shootout in the third-place match.
