Golfer Anna Nordqvist to end her playing career
Swedish golfer Anna Nordqvist has announced that she will end her professional playing career after the FM Championship in Boston. According to Channel NewsAsia, citing Reuters, the 39-year-old athlete announced this in a video on the LPGA website.
Final tournament
Nordqvist is ending her career after 18 years in professional golf. She said she decided to focus on her health and family, and that this week's FM Championship will be her final tournament as a professional player.
The Swede won Major tournaments three times. She also took part in nine editions of the Solheim Cup, a team competition between the Europe and United States national teams.

Captain of Team Europe
Despite ending her playing career, Nordqvist will lead the European team at the Solheim Cup. The tournament will take place on September 11–13 at Bernardus Golf Club in the Netherlands.
In the two previous editions of the Solheim Cup, Nordqvist was vice-captain of the European team. This year, Europe will try to reclaim the trophy after the United States team won on home soil in 2024.
