European champion Chepurnyi explained why he cannot train in Ukraine
Ukrainian gymnast Nazar Chepurnyi said that due to Russian shelling, sleepless nights, and the tense atmosphere in the gym, it is difficult for him to fully prepare for competitions in Ukraine.
The athlete also complained about the lack of a productive training environment following the change in head coach. According to him, he cannot train in a “constant atmosphere of mourning” because it demotivates him.
Chepurnyi was preparing for the 2026 European Championships in Germany and plans to train abroad again ahead of the next World Championships. At the European Championships in Zagreb, he won gold in the vault.
