The IAAF has lifted sanctions against the All-Russian Athletics Federation
The Council of the International Association of Athletics Federations has decided to lift all sanctions imposed on the All-Russian Athletics Federation for violations of anti-doping rules.
This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Sport.
The restrictions had been in place for several years following the exposure of systematic doping among Russian athletes.
The International Association stated that the Russian federation has fulfilled all necessary conditions for the reinstatement of its membership.
Earlier, the Italian Gymnastics Federation stated that it sees no legal obstacles to Russian gymnast Angelina Melnikova competing in the national championship.
