Christian Shevchenko, the son of UAF President and legendary Ukrainian soccer player Andriy Shevchenko, is leaving England's Watford.

The club announced this.

The 19-year-old winger did not receive a new professional contract, so he is forced to look for a new team to continue his career. The club reported that Shevchenko, along with several other academy graduates, is leaving the team.

Christian was born in London and built his soccer career in England. He initially trained in the Chelsea system and later joined the Watford academy. In 2025, he signed his first professional contract on a 1+1 deal, but the club did not exercise the option to extend the agreement.

Shevchenko Jr. also played for Ukraine’s youth and junior national teams. In particular, he played in the 2024 U-19 European Championship, where the Ukrainian team reached the semifinals.

Also, according to Sportico, Inter Miami’s valuation rose to $1.45 billion after Messi’s arrival, making the club the most valuable soccer team in the U.S.

Lionel Messihas chosen his successor in soccer.
