In South Korea, Kim Ha-seong tied the score in the 11th inning and then scored the winning run as Atlanta defeated Philadelphia 6-5. As Korea Herald reports, the victory increased Atlanta's lead over Philadelphia in the National League East.

A single with two outs

Before Kim came to bat, Atlanta was trailing 4-5, with automatic runner Ozzie Albies on second base. With two strikes, Kim hit a single between third base and the shortstop, allowing Albies to score and tie the game.

After that, Drake Baldwin hit the ball into the outfield gap. Kim, who started from first base, reached home plate and brought Atlanta the winning run.

Kim's key hits

Kim delivered important hits in two consecutive games. In late August, he also hit a game-winning single in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. This streak came after a prolonged slump: his batting average had been below .100 for much of the season.

ATL All Day, an outlet covering Atlanta sports, wrote that Kim's recent results validate the club's decision to keep him on the roster despite the difficulties. The outlet linked the improvement primarily to restored confidence after the game-winning hit against the Dodgers, rather than to a significant change in his batting approach.

The recent results give Atlanta an additional bench option in the final weeks of the regular season. At the same time, this stretch is too short to definitively say that Kim has overcome the offensive problems that persisted throughout the season.
