Lee Jung-hoo hits a single in Giants’ loss to Padres
In the United States, the San Francisco Giants lost to the San Diego Padres 6-7 at Oracle Park. Lee Jung-hoo recorded one hit in four at-bats, starting for the Giants in right field and batting sixth, Korea Herald reports.
Lee’s only single came in the seventh inning. With two outs, he sent the first pitch from Michael King — a changeup — over the shortstop into center field, but was later left on base. In the second inning, Lee struck out, in the fourth his hit was caught in left field, and in the ninth he flew out to center field after a 100.8 mph fastball from Mason Miller.

How the game unfolded
The Giants took a 2-0 lead after Rafael Devers hit a home run in the first inning. Dustin Harris tied the score with a two-run single in the second, but Shay Whitcomb restored the home side’s lead in the bottom half of the inning with a solo home run.
The Padres scored in five consecutive innings. Jackson Merrill tied the game with a solo home run in the third inning, Harris put his team ahead with a sacrifice fly in the fourth, and Jake Cronenworth added an RBI single in the fifth. In the sixth inning, Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a home run. Whitcomb’s error at third base in the seventh allowed Xander Bogaerts to score and extended San Diego’s lead to 7-3. In the eighth, San Francisco cut the deficit with a solo home run by Drew Cavanaugh and a two-run home run by Drew Gilbert, but Miller preserved the winning score in the ninth inning.
