Kostyuk withdrew from the doubles competition at Roland Garros due to her partner's health condition

The Ukrainian-Romanian duo of Marta Kostyuk and Elena-Gabriela Ruse was forced to withdraw from the French Open (Roland Garros) in the doubles competition.

The reason was the Romanian tennis player’s inability to recover from heatstroke, which she suffered during a singles match, according to “Great Tennis of Ukraine.”

As a result, Ruse was unable to continue competing in the tournament.

During her opening singles match, Ruse withdrew from her match against Polish tennis player Magdalena Fręch due to feeling unwell.

As a result, the Ukrainian-Romanian duo did not take the court for their first-round doubles match against the third-seeded pair of Elise Mertens (Belgium) and Zhang Shuai (China).

Marta Kostyuk continues her singles campaign. She advanced to the third round of Roland Garros 2026 after defeating Katie Volynets (USA) in three sets.

The Ukrainian’s next opponent will be Swiss tennis player Victoria Golubic.

Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk got off to a successful start at Roland Garros, securing a confident victory in the first round of the tournament.

Prior to this, Ukraine’s top-ranked player, Marta Kostyuk, was forced to withdraw from the prestigious WTA 1000 tennis tournament in Rome due to an injury to her right thigh.
