Latvia lose 1:3 to Switzerland in volleyball and will face Turkey
Latvia’s men’s national volleyball team lost 1:3 to Switzerland in the penultimate match of the European Championship group stage. Despite the defeat, the Latvian team retains a chance of reaching the round of 16 thanks to the results of other matches, LSM English reports.
Decisive match against Turkey
In four group-stage matches, Latvia’s national team has earned one victory. To continue in the tournament, the team must beat Turkey in the final Group D match.
The winner of the Latvia vs. Turkey match will claim the final round-of-16 berth from Group D. The match will take place on Wednesday and will be broadcast live by LSM and the LTV7 television channel.

Tournament format
Twenty-four national teams, divided into four groups, are competing in the final stage of the European Championship. In the first stage, the teams play a single round-robin tournament, with the top four teams from each group advancing to the round of 16.
The playoff matches will be held in Italy and Bulgaria. Milan, Italy, will host the tournament’s medal matches.
