Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk won her quarterfinal match at Wimbledon 2026 and advanced to the next round of the tournament.
In a tense match, Kostyuk defeated Italy’s top-ranked player, Jasmine Paolini, allowing the Ukrainian to reach the semifinals of the prestigious tournament for the first time in her career.
As reported, the match between the two players ended with a two-set victory for the Ukrainian.
The players began the first set by trading games until the score was 2–2. After that, Kostyuk went on a run that allowed her to close out the set with a 6–3 victory.
In the decisive second set, with the score tied at 1–1, Kostyuk pulled ahead, leading 4–1. Paolini tried to close the gap but was only able to win one game, losing the match 2–6.
