The UPL match in Rivne was postponed due to an air raid alert
The Ukrainian Premier League Matchday 28 fixture between Kudrivka and Lviv-based Rukh was not held as scheduled due to security concerns. The UPL management rescheduled the match for Thursday, May 14, following an air raid alert that lasted more than five hours and prevented the game from taking place in Rivne.
This was reported on the UPL’s official website.
The match was scheduled to begin on May 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Avangard Stadium, but an hour before kickoff, an alert was issued in the region that lasted until the evening. According to the regulations, under such conditions, it became impossible to hold the match on the same day. The new kickoff time is 1:00 p.m. the following day.
This match is of critical importance for both teams, as they are fighting to stay in the top division while currently in the relegation zone. A victory in this head-to-head matchup will allow one of the clubs to significantly improve its chances of retaining its spot in the UPL with two rounds remaining in the championship. Thus, this match will officially close out the 28th round.
On May 13, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., the enemy attacked Ukraine with 753 strike drones of various types, including Shahed (some of which were jet-powered), “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and “Parody” decoy drones.
As a result of the drone attack on Zaporizhzhia, seven people were wounded, including a child.
