Arsenal's defence will test high-scoring Chelsea

London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea will meet on Sunday in a Premier League match. The game will be the first serious test for the defence of the reigning champions: Arsenal started the season with two wins without conceding, while Chelsea scored seven goals in two matches but conceded five.

As Dawn reports, Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya faced only one shot on target in matches against Coventry City and Aston Villa. Last season, Mikel Arteta's team conceded 27 goals in 38 games. In the match against Aston Villa, the London side won 1-0.

The teams' contrasting styles

Arsenal seek to control possession and build attacks from the back, combining quickly in the final third. Chelsea, under new head coach Xabi Alonso, play more dynamically and rely on direct, fast attacks after interceptions.

In the match against Brighton & Hove Albion, Chelsea had possession for 26% of the time but made effective use of interceptions and Pedro Neto's pace on the flanks. The team's attacking line also includes Cole Palmer, João Pedro and Morgan Rogers, who became the club's record signing.

Arsenal's run and the round's matches

Chelsea have not beaten Arsenal in their last 11 matches in all competitions, a run that has lasted five years. Arteta's team are considered favourites ahead of Sunday's game.

Along with Arsenal, Manchester City and league newcomers Hull City have had perfect starts to the season. On Saturday, Manchester City will host Coventry City, who have yet to earn a point, while Hull will play Aston Villa, who have neither points nor goals. On Friday, Andoni Iraola's Liverpool will play away against Ipswich Town, while on Sunday Manchester United will play away against Everton.
