Olisé broke Pelé's record for assists in a single World Cup
French national team winger Michael Olise set a new record for the most assists in a single World Cup.
The Frenchman achieved this historic feat in the 2026 World Cup third-place match against England, recording two assists.
As a result, Olise finished the tournament with seven assists, surpassing the record set by the legendary Brazilian Pelé, who recorded six assists at the 1970 World Cup.
Assist statistics at World Cups have been officially tracked since 1966.
