Pakistan beat Uzbekistan in hockey and Nepal in kabaddi at Asian Games — Dawn
Pakistan’s field hockey and kabaddi teams secured their second victories at the Asian Games. In a Group B hockey match, Pakistan defeated Uzbekistan 5:1, while the kabaddi team beat Nepal 58:43, Dawn reports.
Hockey victory
The Pakistan-Uzbekistan match took place at Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium. The first half ended 1:1: Mohammad Ammad opened the scoring in the 18th minute, while Shokhrukhbek Salimjonov equalized in the 30th minute by converting a penalty corner.
After the break, Sufyan Khan put Pakistan ahead again from a penalty corner. In the 40th minute, Abdul Rehman extended the team’s lead, Abu Mahmood scored from a penalty, and Sufyan Khan completed his brace in the 57th minute. It was Khan’s third goal in two matches of the tournament. In their opening match, Pakistan thrashed Thailand 9:0, and the team’s next opponent on Thursday will be China, which defeated Thailand 8:1.

Kabaddi, fencing and equestrian sport
In Kabaddi Group B, Pakistan led Nepal 30:17 at halftime. The team, captained by Mudassar Ali, eventually won 58:43. Pakistan’s defense recorded six all-outs, while the team’s raiders earned eight bonus points. Pakistan will play Thailand on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Pakistani fencers Baryal Khan and Mohammad Yasin Khan lost all five bouts in the men’s individual foil tournament. In the individual dressage phase of eventing, Usman Khan on Eden du Veret finished 19th among 32 participants with a score of 36.70 penalty points, or 63.33%.
Soft tennis setbacks
In soft tennis, Eradj Zaidi and Kainaat Shalwani lost two singles matches each by a score of 0:4. In the men’s tournament, Mohammad Ali and Hussain Arain also lost all their matches without winning a single game.
