Dutch boxer Rico Verhoeven made his debut in the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight rankings following his bout against world champion Oleksandr Usyk.
Despite the loss, Verhoeven took eighth place in the WBC rankings. It was this organization’s title that was on the line for the Dutchman had he defeated the Ukrainian.
In addition, Rico made his debut in the World Boxing Association (WBA) rankings, where he was ranked 15th among heavyweight boxers.
For Verhoeven, the fight against Usyk was only his second bout in the professional boxing ring and his first in 12 years. The fight ended with a first-round victory for the Ukrainian in the 11th round.
