Celtic were crowned Scottish soccer champions for the 2025–26 season, clinching the title in dramatic fashion on the final matchday.
In the decisive match, the “Celtics” defeated their direct rival, Hearts, 3-1 at home.
Going into the final round, Hearts led the standings with 80 points, one point ahead of Celtic, so the Glasgow team needed nothing less than a win.
Thanks to this victory, Celtic claimed its 56th championship title in its history and became the sole record-holder for the most wins in the Scottish league.
Hearts, on the other hand, failed to break the nearly 40-year dominance of Celtic and Rangers—the last time a team outside the “Old Firm” won the Scottish title was Aberdeen in 1985.
As a reminder, Villarreal has once again expressed interest in Real Madrid’s Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin. The Madrid club is willing to consider selling the 26-year-old keeper only under two conditions: if there is a high offer and Lunin himself wants to change teams.
In the summer of 2023, Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin effectively scuttled the transfer of Getafe goalkeeper David Soria to Real Madrid.
