Yarmolenko closed in on Shatskikh's record by leading Dynamo to victory over Poltava

Kyiv's Dynamo defeated SK Poltava 2–0 in a match of the 29th round of the Ukrainian Premier League.

Andriy Yarmolenko scored the winning goal in the 3rd minute on a penalty kick. In stoppage time of the second half, Eduardo Guerrero sealed the victory for Kyiv.

With this goal, Yarmolenko scored his 123rd goal in the Ukrainian league and tied with Serhiy Rebrov for the most goals scored in the national championship.

Now the Dynamo forward shares second place with Rebrov on the list of the top scorers in the history of the Ukrainian league, trailing only Maksym Shatskikh, who has 124 goals.

As a reminder, Villarreal has once again expressed interest in Real Madrid’s Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin. The Madrid club is willing to consider selling the 26-year-old keeper only under two conditions: if there is a high offer and Lunin himself wants to change teams. 

In the summer of 2023, Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin effectively scuttled the transfer of Getafe goalkeeper David Soria to Real Madrid.
