It has been revealed who Denis Berinchik might face in his next fight
Ukrainian boxer Denys Berinchyk may return to the ring on August 29. The former WBO lightweight world champion’s likely opponent will be Britain’s Sam Nokes.
The bout is scheduled to take place in London at the O2 Arena as part of the undercard for a boxing event headlined by a fight between Britain’s Moses Itouma and Croatia’s Filip Hrgovic.
For the 38-year-old Berinchik, this fight could be his first since February 2025. At that time, the Ukrainian suffered his first professional loss, losing by stoppage to American Keishon Davis and relinquishing his WBO lightweight world title. After the fight, the boxer underwent two shoulder surgeries and a lengthy rehabilitation.
Berinchik is currently preparing to return to the ring in Bukovel under the guidance of coach Yuriy Tkachenko, with whom he won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games.
The Ukrainian’s likely opponent, 28-year-old Sam Nokes, last fought in May 2026, when he defeated Mexican Benito Sánchez García by TKO in the second round.
