Ukrainian Yulia Starodubtseva caused the biggest upset of the second round of the French Open (Roland Garros) by defeating world No. 2 Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan.

This was reported by “Great Tennis of Ukraine.”

The match on the Suzanne Lenglen Court began with the more decorated Rybakina taking the lead, who, thanks to breaks, went up 3-0 and confidently closed out the first set. However, the situation changed dramatically in the second set—the Ukrainian tennis player seized the initiative, won five games in a row, and decisively evened the match.

In the decisive third set, Starodubtseva immediately took a 3-0 lead, but the Kazakhstani player managed to save two break points and level the score. For Yulia Starodubtseva, this victory was the most significant and highest-ranked of her professional career.
