The court has declared Dnipro-1 bankrupt: the club will be liquidated

The Commercial Court of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast has ruled that the football club "Dnipro-1," which previously competed in the Ukrainian Premier League, is bankrupt.

The corresponding ruling was published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.

The decision was made on April 23 as part of a case regarding debt to creditors. The bankruptcy proceedings were initiated by Donetsk’s “Shakhtar,” which is seeking over 21 million UAH—a portion of the transfer fee for player Oleksandr Pikhalonok from “Dnipro-1” to “Dynamo.”

The club’s total debt is estimated at approximately 340 million hryvnias.

The court declared the club bankrupt and initiated liquidation proceedings.

"Dnipro-1" was founded in 2015 and ceased competing in the UPL after the 2023/24 season. The team’s greatest achievement was winning the silver medal in the Ukrainian Championship during the 2022/23 season, and the year before, the club won bronze medals. The team also reached the semifinals of the Ukrainian Cup twice.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian national soccer team dropped in the updated FIFA rankings, falling from 30th to 32nd place.

The Ukrainian Football Association officially announced the end of its collaboration with national team head coach Serhiy Rebrov. The contract was terminated by mutual agreement following the team’s unsuccessful performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
