Swansea beat Burnley and returned to the automatic promotion zone
Swansea City defeated Burnley 3-1 at Swansea.com Stadium in a Championship match on September 12. Thanks to this result, Vitor Matos' team returned to the automatic promotion zone and moved level on points with West Ham at the top of the table, Sky Sports News reports.
Two goals before the break
The hosts opened the scoring in the 14th minute. Adam Idah chased a long ball through the middle of the pitch, got ahead of Igor Julio and challenged Burnley goalkeeper Max Weiss outside the penalty area. The goalkeeper delayed his decision and lost the ball, after which Idah sent it into the empty net. It was the striker's third goal of the season.
In the 33rd minute, Swansea doubled their advantage. After Burnley lost the ball following their third consecutive corner, Elijah Just picked it up in the centre circle and sent Moussa Yeo through on goal. The midfielder carried the ball to the edge of the penalty area and found the bottom-left corner, scoring his first goal for Swansea.
Burnley's goal and the hosts' response
Burnley had chances to reduce the deficit before the break: Aaron Ramsey forced Lawrence Vigouroux to make a one-handed save and tip the ball onto the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Largie Ramazani avoided the offside trap and beat Vigouroux with a low shot into the left corner.

Five minutes later, Swansea scored their third. Marko Stamenic passed to Ronald, who got ahead of Lucas Pires and sent a low cross across the goal for Zan Vipotnik. The striker finished the move with a first-time shot.
Jamie Vardy, who joined from Italy's Cremonese, made his Burnley debut after coming on as a substitute in the 64th minute. Nine minutes later, his goal was disallowed for offside. Another late goal by the visitors was not awarded by referee James Bell, who ruled that Vigouroux had been fouled during a corner delivery.
It was Burnley's fourth defeat in seven league matches. Nicky Hayen's team remain without a win this season and have dropped to the bottom of the Championship.
