Surkis conceded two goals and left the field early in the Dynamo match

Kyiv “Dynamo” goalkeeper Vyacheslav Surkis had a rough game against Chernivtsi “Bukovyna” in the latest round of the Ukrainian Premier League. His team lost 0–3.

The “White-and-Blue” prospect conceded two goals and was subsequently forced to leave the field. It was a difficult night in professional soccer for the young goalkeeper.

The son of former Ukrainian Football Federation President Hryhoriy Surkis and nephew of club president Ihor Surkis started for the “White-and-Blues.” In the 12th minute, he made his first costly mistake. The goalkeeper failed to clear the ball from his own box and conceded a goal under pressure from the opponent.

In the 54th minute, Surkis Jr. made his second mistake. After a cross from the wing, he lost the ball to Busko in an aerial duel, allowing it to cross the goal line. The goal was recorded in the match report as an own goal by the Dynamo goalkeeper.

After that, Surkis remained in goal for the “White-and-Blues.” It wasn’t until the 60th minute that the Dynamo coaching staff brought on Illia Olkhovyi to replace him. Later, the broadcast director found a clip showing the 20-year-old goalkeeper gesturing to the bench to discuss a potential substitution.

Surkis Jr. became Dynamo’s starting goalkeeper at the start of this season following Ruslan Neshcheret’s injury. He made his debut in goal during the Europa League qualifiers against PAOK from Thessaloniki, Greece. Since then, the product of the capital club’s youth system has played six consecutive matches.

Dynamo suffered a crushing defeat against Bukovyna and remained in sixth place in the UPL standings. The “White-and-Blues” have earned six points in three matches. Earlier, Kostyuk’s team was eliminated from European competition. Their next opponent is LNZ from Cherkasy (September 6).

This was reported by UPL TV.

Surkis denied reports of damage to the “Dynamo” stadium.
