Ghana national football team head coach Carlos Queiroz said he does not intend to change his approach to the game despite criticism of the team’s style. As MyJoyOnline reports, the Portuguese specialist stressed that results are the main criterion for his work.
Response to criticism
Some observers described Ghana’s style of play as overly cautious and called on the team to be more active in attack. Queiroz responded that coaches are judged by results, not by style. He also said he would not change the principles he has followed for 47 years.

According to the coach, the team seeks to control the ball, including during the World Cup. At the same time, when the national team does not have possession, its task is to fight to win it back. Queiroz added that there are different opinions in football, but everyone must act together when it comes to the national team.
Qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations
Ghana’s next task will be qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. In their opening match, the Ghanaians will play Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday. Five days later, Ghana will host Gambia in Accra.
