In Ghana, FC Savannah and Epiphany Warriors retained first place in their groups after the second round of the Women’s Super Cup. In Group A, FC Savannah drew 0-0 with Jonina Ladies, while in Group B, Epiphany Warriors defeated Prisons Ladies 4-0.

FC Savannah retain the lead

FC Savannah remained in first place in Group A, although they failed to convert numerous chances in the match against Jonina Ladies. The team also missed a penalty. In the first round, FC Savannah defeated Fosu Royal Ladies.

FC Savannah’s lead was confirmed after a draw in the other group match: Hasaacas Ladies came back in their game against Fosu Royal Ladies. Earlier, Hasaacas Ladies began the tournament with a 1-0 victory over Jonina Ladies, reports MyJoyOnline.

Epiphany Warriors win and Dreamz Ladies are eliminated

In Group B, Epiphany Warriors secured their second consecutive victory by thrashing Prisons Ladies. Former Hasaacas Ladies defender Akosua Sarfowaa scored a brace with two free kicks, while Faustina Tiwaa also got on the scoresheet.

In the other group match, Army Ladies defeated Dreamz Ladies 3-1. Dreamz Ladies’ loss in the second round means the team has been eliminated from the tournament, although it still has one match to play. Epiphany Warriors have six points, while Army Ladies and Prisons Ladies have three each. The final round of the group stage is scheduled for Sunday, September 27.
