Usyk Reveals When He Will Fight His Farewell Bout
Former undisputed world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk announced that he plans to fight one more time in the professional ring. According to the Ukrainian boxer, this fight will be his farewell bout.
“It could happen early next year, or perhaps at the end of this year, in December,” Usyk said.
This was reported with reference to TalkSport.
Usyk confirmed that Lomachenko is preparing to return to the ring.
Ukrainian champion Oleksandr Usyk has likely already decided on his final opponent in his professional career. According to The Ring, the Ukrainian’s team is in active negotiations for a fight against former world champion Deontay Wilder.
Oleksandr Usyk no longer tops the list of the world’s best boxers across all weight classes. The top spot in The Independent’s prestigious rankings is now held by Japanese champion Naoya Inoue. The Ukrainian, who for a long time was the world’s top boxer following his victories in the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions, has dropped to second place.
