A 14-year-old soccer player died in Argentina after being struck by a ball
A tragedy occurred during a soccer match in Argentina—14-year-old player Benjamin Donofrio died after being struck in the chest by a ball during the game. The incident led to a sudden deterioration in the teenager’s condition, and efforts to save him were unsuccessful.
The tragic incident occurred on June 16. According to sources, Benjamin Donofrio was struck hard in the chest by the ball. Afterward, the teenager fell to the field, then got up and took a few steps, but soon lost consciousness again.
A short time later, he began having seizures, after which an ambulance was called. While being transported to the hospital, Donofrio suffered cardiac and respiratory arrest.
The club “Atlético Sarmiento,” for which the teenager played, expressed its condolences to his family and loved ones.
