Western Bulldogs beat Sydney Swans, North Melbourne claim 31st straight win
In Australia, the women’s team Western Bulldogs defeated Sydney Swans 9.6 (60) — 5.3 (33) in a fourth-round AFLW match at Whitten Oval. Before the final quarter, the Bulldogs were trailing by four points, but scored five unanswered goals and won by 27 points.
As ABC News Australia reports, forward Emma McDonald scored three goals in the final quarter. Rylie Wilcox also scored a goal in the closing stage of the game and finished with three goals and 26 disposals — the highest total in the match.
Sydney Swans’ first defeat
Sydney Swans suffered their first defeat since the start of the season. Previously, the team had recorded big wins over Adelaide, Essendon and St Kilda.

In the third quarter, the Swans took the lead thanks to two goals from Chloe Molloy, but failed to hold onto their advantage. The team will also be without Taylor Smith for at least the next two matches due to injury.
North Melbourne’s record streak
North Melbourne thrashed St Kilda 14.15 (99) — 1.1 (7), extending its record streak to 31 consecutive wins. The team has not lost since the 2023 grand final.
Tahlia Randall scored five goals, three of them in the second half. Kate Shierlaw scored four goals, including three in the first half. Ash Riddell recorded 39 disposals and scored a goal, while Jasmine Garner had 38 disposals and 11 clearances. St Kilda’s only goal in the second quarter was scored by Ash Richards. It was the team’s fourth consecutive defeat at the start of the season.
