The first semifinalists for Wimbledon 2026 have been determined
The first quarterfinal matches in the women’s singles draw took place in London at Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam tournament of the 2026 season. Based on the results, the first pair of semifinalists has been determined.
American tennis player Cori Gauff secured her spot in the semifinals after a hard-fought victory over her compatriot Jessica Pegula with a score of 4–6, 6–3, 6–3. Her opponent at this stage will be Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic, who defeated Naomi Osaka of Japan in two sets—7–6 (7–4), 6–4.
In the other half of the draw, the finalist will be determined by the results of the upcoming matches: Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk will face Italy’s Jasmine Paolini, while the Czech Republic’s Linda Nosková will take on Belgium’s Elise Mertens.
