Warrington Wolves defeated Hull KR 35:12 in a Super League elimination match at the Halliwell Jones Stadium and reached the tournament semi-finals. Warrington's opponent in the battle for a place in the final will be Leeds Rhinos, Sky Sports News reports.
Advantage after the sending-off
The first half ended 12:6 in Warrington's favour. Ben Currie scored a try with a conversion, Evan Irwin kicked a penalty, and Matty Ashton also registered a try. Hull KR responded with a try from Joe Burgess after an attack started by Arthur Mourgue.
The key episode came early in the second half: Hull KR player Peta Hiku received a straight red card for punching George Williams. Hull KR were then reduced to fewer players, and Warrington's numerical advantage later proved decisive.

Ashton's hat-trick
After Hiku's sending-off, Ashton crossed the line twice more to complete his hat-trick. Albert Hopoate also scored a try. For Hull KR, Dean Hadley crossed the line, but the try was only a consolation. Late in the match, Williams kicked a drop goal, while Toby King finished the game with another try.
For Warrington, this is their first Super League semi-final since 2024: in 2025, the club did not reach the playoffs. Hull KR's defeat also means the end of Willie Peters' tenure as the team's head coach. In 2025, he led the club to its first Super League title in history.
The Leeds Rhinos vs Warrington Wolves semi-final will take place on September 25. In the other semi-final on September 26, Wigan Warriors will play Wakefield Trinity.
