In Pattani, Thailand, a motorized football-pitch roller knocked down 35-year-old Prachuap player Andros Townsend during the break of a Thai League 1 match. The former England international forward was warming up with his teammates and avoided serious injuries, Channel NewsAsia reports, citing Reuters.

Incident during warm-up

Townsend stepped out of the exercise area to make a pass and did not notice the roller, which was being operated by a groundskeeper. The machine knocked the footballer down and drove over his legs almost up to his waist.

The driver jumped off the roller and tried to lift the machine to free the player. Townsend avoided severe injuries and was able to get up.
