Zeanne Law wins Singapore’s first medal at the Asian Games — Channel NewsAsia
In Nagoya, Japan, 20-year-old wushu athlete Zeanne Law won a bronze medal in the women’s taijiquan and taijijian events at the 20th Asian Games. This is Singapore’s first medal at the current competition, Channel NewsAsia reports.
Competition results
The final was held at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall. China’s Xin Tong won gold with a total of 19.553 points, while Japan’s Shiho Saito took silver with 19.473 points.
Law scored 19.443 points and shared the bronze medal with Basma Lachkar of Brunei. Another Singapore representative, Vera Tan, finished seventh.

The athlete’s performance
After the taijiquan performance, Law was behind Lachkar. However, the athlete’s result in taijijian allowed her to draw level with her rival on the final score and win the first Asian Games medal of her career.
Law also competed in this discipline at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. In 2023, she won the world taijiquan title and was named Rising Star of the Year in wushu taolu.
These are the second consecutive Asian Games at which Singapore’s first medal has been won by a wushu representative. At the previous competition in Hangzhou, Kimberly Ong won bronze in women’s changquan.
