In England, Manchester United drew 1-1 with Fulham in a Premier League match. The team avoided defeat thanks to a goal by Matheus Cunha in the 89th minute: the Brazilian's shot changed direction after a deflection. Sky Sports News reports.

Martinez own goal

The scoring was opened in the 63rd minute. Fulham centre-back Calvin Bassey won the ball from Cunha and shot at goal. Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens saved the effort, but Lisandro Martinez put out his leg and directed the ball into his own net.

Before the break, both teams had chances to score. Bruno Fernandes hit the post after a pass from Cunha, while Cunha soon also struck the frame of the goal following a deflection. Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno made several saves, including from Bryan Mbeumo and Cunha in the second half.

Cunha's late goal

In the 86th minute, Manchester United players appealed for a penalty over a possible handball by Bassey, but no spot kick was awarded because the defender's arms were pressed against his body. Three minutes later, Cunha struck a shot which, after a deflection, earned the visitors a draw.

After five matches of the season, Manchester United remain in the bottom half of the Premier League table and trail leaders Manchester City by 10 points. Fulham, who have yet to win in the league under Alvaro Arbeloa, moved up from last place on goal difference thanks to the draw.
