Fenerbahçe thrash Eyüpspor 8-0 in Turkish championship — Anadolu Agency
In Istanbul, Turkey’s Fenerbahçe defeated Eyüpspor 8-0 in a sixth-round Süper Lig match. The victory was the club’s biggest ever in the Turkish championship, Anadolu Agency reports.
Five goals before the break
The hosts opened the scoring in the fifth minute: Greenwood converted a penalty awarded after a VAR review for Costa’s foul on Vedat Muriqi. Just two minutes later, Muriqi doubled Fenerbahçe’s lead after a pass from Kerem Aktürkoğlu.
In the 21st minute, Muriqi scored for the second time, converting the rebound after Greenwood’s shot was saved by goalkeeper Horațiu Moldovan. Matteo Guendouzi and İrfan Can Kahveci also scored before the break, leaving the Istanbul side 5-0 up at half-time.

Muriqi’s four-goal haul and records
After the break, Muriqi completed his hat-trick in the 47th minute and scored his fourth goal of the match in the 55th minute, heading in İrfan Can’s corner. Greenwood set the final score in the 80th minute, assisted by Oğuz Aydın.
Fenerbahçe became the first team among clubs in Europe’s top ten leagues to score five goals in the first half of a single match this season. Seven goals in 55 minutes became another club record in the league. The victory also made Fenerbahçe the team with the most matches featuring seven or more goals in Süper Lig history.
