Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald may play in the home game against the New York Giants in Inglewood, California, United States, after being inactive in the first-week game of the season. The 35-year-old player, who resumed his career, practiced on Thursday. Rams head coach Sean McVay said the decision on his participation would depend on how the football player feels.

This was reported by The Japan Times. If Donald takes the field, it will be his first game since January 2024. Giants head coach John Harbaugh said the team is preparing for Donald's possible participation, calling him a player capable of significantly influencing the game against both running and passing plays.

Rams' preparation for the game

The Rams will host the Giants on Monday after losing 7-27 to the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne in the first game of the season. After one game, the team is in last place in the National Football Conference West division, and its offense has the lowest scoring output in the NFL.

McVay urged the team to focus on the upcoming game. Last season, the Rams won four of five games after losses. McVay has also not lost to the Giants in four games, while quarterback Matthew Stafford has two wins over the New York club as a member of the Rams.

In the game against the 49ers, Stafford completed 15 of 25 passes for 155 yards and threw one interception. In the first half, his passer rating was 19.1. The quarterback expressed confidence that the team would be able to play better this week.

Players' condition and the opponent

Rams receiver Puka Nacua missed practice on Friday and Saturday due to a hip injury, so his participation in the game remains in question. Last season, Nacua led the NFL in receptions with 129, while also gaining 1,715 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns in 16 games.

The Giants started the season with a 28-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Their quarterback Jackson Dart threw three touchdown passes, and the team traveled to the US West Coast a day earlier to adjust to the time-zone change.
