Amazon launches Alexa+ with Hindi support in India — TechCrunch
Amazon has opened early access in India to its conversational assistant Alexa+ with support for Hindi and English. The new assistant can hold longer dialogues and retain the context of a conversation, TechCrunch reports.
Access terms
During the Early Access phase, the feature is available to all users in the country. Once early testing ends, Alexa+ will be free for Prime subscribers. For customers without Prime, it will cost 2,000 Indian rupees per month, or $20.85.
According to Amazon, the updated Alexa has a more expressive voice and can perform complex multistep tasks. In particular, it can order groceries through the Amazon Now quick-commerce service and control smart home devices. Users can switch between English and Hindi even in the middle of a sentence.

Integrations and service development
Alexa+ in India is integrated with local services, including food delivery service Swiggy, Zomato's District ticket-booking platform, travel websites TripAdvisor and MakeMyTrip, and table reservation service EazyDiner. The assistant also works with the Amazon Music and JioSaavn music services.
Amazon launched Alexa in English in India in 2017 and added Hindi support in 2019. The company did not provide absolute figures but said its smart home devices grew by 20% compared with last year. Amazon introduced the generative artificial intelligence-based Alexa+ in 2025 and opened access to it for all users in the United States in 2026.
