Anthropic is approaching an initial public offering in the United States after confidentially filing for an IPO in June 2026. In a prospectus reviewed by Reuters, the company said that artificial intelligence could transform the global economy more profoundly than industrialization, electricity, and the internet. As Channel NewsAsia reports, the listing could become the first stock market debut for a laboratory developing advanced AI models.

Investments and Claude's development

Anthropic, led by Dario Amodei and Daniela Amodei, raised $124 million in a Series A round in May 2021. In April 2022, the company received another $580 million in a Series B round, and in March 2023 it introduced the Claude large language model, which competes with OpenAI's developments.

In May 2023, Anthropic raised $450 million from investors including Google and Spark Capital. In September of the same year, Amazon announced its intention to invest up to $4 billion in cash in the company, and in October Alphabet agreed to invest up to $2 billion. In November 2024, Amazon additionally invested $4 billion.

In March 2025, Anthropic raised $3.5 billion at a post-money valuation of $61.5 billion. In September of that year, following a new $13 billion round, its valuation reached $183 billion. In August 2026, music publisher Round Hill Music also filed a lawsuit against Anthropic and Suno, alleging that the companies used hundreds of its songs to train their systems. In March, Anthropic filed a lawsuit seeking to block the Pentagon from placing the company on a list on national security grounds.

Reuters, citing a source, reported that Anthropic's annual revenue run rate exceeded $65 billion at the end of July 2026. Reuters also wrote, citing sources, that the company forecasts revenue of approximately $190–200 billion in 2028.
