Apple releases iOS 27 with updated AI assistant Siri — The Verge
Apple has begun rolling out the iOS 27 update for compatible iPhones, along with watchOS 27, iPadOS 27 and visionOS 27. The main new feature is Siri AI, an updated version of the Siri voice assistant with artificial intelligence, The Verge reports.
Siri AI is currently available in beta status only on devices set to English. Apple said it plans to add support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish in October.
Changes in iOS 27
iOS 27 introduces a Liquid Glass interface transparency slider that allows users to choose a clearer or more matte appearance for system elements. Built-in apps have received updated icons with minor color changes, as well as large widgets.

The company also added separate volume settings for ringtones, alarms, timers, notifications and system sounds. The iOS 27 update is available for the iPhone 11, second-generation iPhone SE and newer models.
Updates for Apple Watch, iPad and Vision Pro
In watchOS 27, Apple added new Workout Buddy capabilities, a tap gesture, Liquid Glass updates, new Smart Stack recommendations and an improved Find My app. The system can be installed on Apple Watch SE 3, Apple Watch Series 9 and newer models, as well as Apple Watch Ultra 2 and newer devices.
iPadOS 27 is expected to speed up file transfers to external drives and web page viewing on iPad, as well as provide smoother switching between Wi-Fi and mobile networks. Apple Vision Pro users with visionOS 27 receive Siri AI, the ability to view notifications with a glance, an updated Control Center, Wi-Fi improvements and support for using captured panoramas as immersive scenes and environments.
