Beats 360 get IPX4 protection and replaceable ear cushions for workouts — The Verge
Beats 360 headphones have received IPX4 splash and sweat protection, replaceable ear cushions, and a replaceable battery. The model is designed for use during workouts and costs $350. As The Verge reports, these are the first Beats headphones with a certified IP protection rating.
Sweat protection and replaceable cushions
An IPX4 rating means protection against water splashes, including sweat. The headphones come with sports knitted ear cushions which, according to reviewers' tests, wick away moisture. They can be removed and cleaned separately: Beats advises wiping the ear cushions with a soap solution, then with a damp cloth, and removing remaining moisture with a dry cloth.
Additional ear cushion sets and headband pads are also available. The knitted options are offered in black, white, light blue, pink, dark blue, and fluorescent green. Soft eco-friendly leather ear cushions are available in black and white. Each set costs $50, although until the end of October Apple is offering them for $10 in Canada, Australia, France, the United Kingdom, China, and South Korea.
Fit and sound
According to the reviewer's assessment, the clamping force of the Beats 360 is sufficient to keep the headphones in place during most exercises without significant discomfort. At the same time, during sprints, abdominal exercises, or other intense movements, the headset may shift and require adjustment.

The headphones have sensors that recognize the type of installed ear cushions and automatically change the sound settings. The review noted pronounced bass and generally clear highs, but pointed to insufficient separation of instruments and vocals in the midrange. Active noise cancellation was rated as very good, although not at the level of the Bose Ultra Headphones Gen 2.
Compatibility and package contents
Beats 360 support Apple features, including quick pairing, iCloud pairing, automatic switching between devices, Find My, and button-free Siri. Android users get Fast Pair, pairing between devices using the same Google account, switching between compatible devices, Find Hub, and voice assistant support after pressing the play or pause button.
Instead of a hard case, the model comes with a soft bag with a magnetic closure. The battery can be replaced, but there is currently no information about the procedure or cost of such a replacement.
