Preorders open for AirPods 5 with active noise cancellation — The Verge
Preorders for Apple AirPods 5 wireless earbuds are now available through Apple, Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. The official sales launch is scheduled for September 18, The Verge reports.
Two versions of AirPods 5
The new product will be available in two versions priced at $129 and $149. The $129 base model has received active noise cancellation. Previously, this feature was available in the more expensive AirPods 4 with ANC version, which cost $179.
The $149 version has a case with wireless charging support, longer battery life, and touch controls on the earbud stem. They allow users to adjust the volume without using a smartphone.

Sales launch
According to the publication, both AirPods 5 versions will go on sale on September 18. Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max are also expected to be released on the same day.
The Verge also reported that it is working on a review of the new AirPods 5.
