Dreamforce in the US: investors await details of Salesforce’s partnership with Anthropic

In San Francisco, United States, Salesforce is expected to hold its annual Dreamforce conference on September 15–17. Investors will be watching for details on the implementation of the recently announced Claudeforce partnership with Anthropic, MarketWatch writes. The conference may become a test of market optimism regarding Salesforce’s artificial intelligence strategy.

Claude integration

UBS analyst Karl Keirstead noted that the focus of Dreamforce participants will be Claudeforce, a partnership that provides for the direct integration of Anthropic’s Claude model into the Salesforce platform. According to him, the collaboration combines the reasoning capabilities of Anthropic’s advanced models with customer data, workflows, business logic and governance mechanisms built into Salesforce.

A key element of the announcement was a new plugin that allows Anthropic users to access and act on Salesforce data directly through Anthropic’s platform rather than through the traditional Salesforce user interface. Keirstead assessed the partnership positively, but said it is currently too early to determine its potential impact on Salesforce’s revenue growth in fiscal 2028, which ends in January of that year.

Questions about the interface

Needham analyst Scott Berg called Claudeforce a shift in Salesforce’s strategy, but drew attention to how customers will perceive the platform in its configuration with Claude. In his view, the integration means that Salesforce is, to some extent, relinquishing control over the user-interface layer, including where users access the company’s data.

Berg noted that this could affect perceptions of the platform’s value and customers’ willingness to pay for Salesforce data and workflows. At the same time, the partnership may open up new features and ways of using data for customers. The day after the company published its earnings report last month, Salesforce shares rose 23%, and added 2.3% on Friday.
