DoorDash invests $125 million in Wonder and will buy its business for $300 million in the US
In the United States, delivery platform DoorDash is investing in Wonder and acquiring its Grubhub Campus Dining business in deals with a total value of $425 million. DoorDash will pay $300 million for Grubhub Campus Dining, formerly known as Tapingo, and will also invest $125 million in Wonder’s $650 million Series D funding round announced in July, TechCrunch reports.
Expansion of Campus Dining
DoorDash plans to develop Grubhub Campus Dining, which already operates at 450 colleges and universities. The company intends to expand this service to stadiums, hotels and other venues.
DoorDash co-founder Tony Xu said that adding Grubhub Campus Dining to the platform should expand choice and convenience for students. According to him, it should also simplify operations and reduce difficulties for universities.

Wonder’s development
Wonder, founded by e-commerce entrepreneur Marc Lore, is developing a network of delivery-focused establishments with kitchens. The company’s model allows customers to order dishes from different restaurants operating under one roof.
Last year, Wonder acquired delivery service Grubhub for $650 million. The company’s portfolio also includes Blue Apron and Tastemade, while its acquired New York restaurant chains include Mighty Quinn’s BBQ, Salt Hank’s and Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken.
According to Wonder, the company has 157 locations and has expanded its presence more than fourfold since the beginning of 2025. Its entry into the Texas market is planned for early 2027. Marc Lore called the partnership with DoorDash an opportunity to focus on the long-term goal: an autonomous system capable of planning, preparing and delivering personalized meals at scale.
